Widerman Malek, PL Managing Partner, Mark Malek, spoke at the Community Foundation Non-Profit Workshop on September 12, 2014 about intellectual property matters that need to be considered by non-profits when carrying out their day to day business.  The topics included various issues regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.  With respect to trademarks and copyrights, the group was instructed on making sure that their use of promotional materials did not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.  The group was also given warnings about the actions of their volunteers and insuring that work done on their websites did not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.  For more information about intellectual property, please contact Mark Malek.  You can also follow Mark on TwitterLinkedIn and Facebook for even more information.
