How to Mitigate Intellectual Property Infringement

When it comes to Intellectual Property, it is essential to consider your options and legal protection. There are many ways individuals can intentionally or unintentionally interfere with your Intellectual Property.

Helpful hints to avoid interference by others:

  1. Have a Trademark registered for your desired brand’s name, logo, or design to ensure they are secured and added to your portfolio.
  2. Create original images or music for your advertisements to avoid having them removed from your advertisements.
  3. Create non-disclosure agreements (NDA) to protect trade secrets with partnerships with other businesses or brands to maintain your trade secrets.
  4. Register your domain variant to preserve your use of it.

One of the most costly mistakes an entrepreneur can make is using Intellectual Property they don’t own the right to, and have lost the opportunity to obtain the right. Without legal protection over your logos, designs, and trade secrets, the continued use of them is unsecured and uncertain.

What Is Intellectual Property?

Intellectual Property is the work or invention resulting from novel creativity. For example, this could be a manuscript, logo, or industrial design to which one may need a patent, trademark, or copyright to protect their idea. To ensure the invention is not stolen, replicated, or lost to another Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection is essential.

Owning Intellectual Property Rights prevents others from duplicating or stealing your work.
